Who wrote this stuff?
Most of the content that you will find on this web site was researched, written, and organized by Bill Carey, who co-founded Tennessee History for Kids in November 2004. A bit about his background: * He lives in Nashville who has, at various times, worked as a reporter for The Tennessean, the Nashville Scene, WPLN public radio, and NashvillePost.com, which he co-founded. * He is a columnist for Tennessee magazine. * His column on Nashville history appeared in The Tennessean for two years. * He is the author of six books: Fortunes Fiddles and Fried Chicken: A Nashville Business History; Chancellors, Commodores and Coeds: A History of Vanderbilt University; Master of the Big Board: The Life, Times and Companies of Jack Massey; Finding a Way: The Southwestern Story; and Leave No One Behind: Hurricane Katrina and the Rescue of Tulane Hospital. * He is a native of Huntsville, Alabama, who spent five years (1987-92) as a flight officer in the U.S. Navy. In addition to being the founder and executive director of Tennessee History for Kids, Carey is a full-time teacher at Cheatham County Central High School in Ashland City. |
