Tennessee History for Kids would love to speak to teachers in your part of the state.

Now that the organization has a full time executive director again, we are scheduling personal appearances at which "History Bill" Carey can spread the good news about Tennessee history, civics and geography and show how to use the web site, videos, booklets and other Tennessee History for Kids tools in class.

He always has plenty of posters, booklets and other goodies to give away!

Since 2006, "History Bill" has spoken at more than 80 teacher training events, including the National Conference of Social Studies annual conference, the Tennessee Association of Middle Schools summer conference (4 times), and system wide inservices in Shelby, Hamilton, Knox and Davidson counties.

* June 20 -- Bradley County Schools (830-1130 am)
* June 22 -- Appearance at Holston Treaty event at James White's Fort in Knoxville
* July 23-24 -- Sumner County Technology Summit at Gallatin High School

* Aug 6 (Mon) -- Jefferson County 4th and 5th grade teachers at Mt. Horeb Elementary School and 6-8 social studies teachers at Jefferson Middle School (short appearance)
* Aug 8 (Wed) -- Hamilton County librarians at Brown Middle School (three sessions)
* Aug 9 (Thu) -- Knox County social studies teaches at West High School (short appearance)
* Sept 21 -- Knox County social studies teachers inservice at West High School (two sessions)
* Oct 8-10 LEAD Conference in Nashville (booth)
* Oct 22 (Mon) Inservice in Warren County (all morning)
* Oct 25-26 TASL Conference in Murfreesboro (both and one session)
* Dec. 2-4 TN Reading Association conference in Murfreesboro
* Dec. 6-7 TN Principal's Association conference in Murfreesboro
* Jan. 8 (maybe) Appearance at Hamilton County librarians inservice
* March 8 (maybe) TN Council for the Social Studies conference in Franklin
