June 12 Inservice in Murfreesboro; June 14 in Cookeville

Tennessee History for Kids recently held successful inservices in Franklin, Memphis, Jackson, Knoxville, Johnson City and Clarksville and is following these up with events in Murfreesboro on June 12 and Cookeville on June 14.

The Murfreesboro event will occur at the Hilton Garden Inn, just off I-24, at Exit 76. There are two sessions; one in the morning for teachers in grades 1-5; the other in the afternoon for teachers in grades 4-12.

The Cookeville event will take place at the Holiday Inn Express, just off I-40, at Exit 287. There will be one session, for teachers of all grades. It begins at 8:30 and goes until 12:30.

The Johnson City inservice

There will be presentations about local and state history, the new social studies standards, and the revised Tennessee History for Kids booklets.

All attendees will receive free sample Tennessee History for Kids booklets, a free set of trading cards, a free Civil Rights poster and a certificate showing either 4 or 8 professional development credit hours.
