TN History for Kids

Inservice Season

One of the TN History for Kids inservices in Johnson City, March 12

Now that Tennessee History for Kids has written, designed and printed booklets that meet the new (2019-2020) social studies standards, we are conducting inservices to tell teachers about the new standards and how our booklets bring them to life for their students.

Already in 2019, we have done events in Memphis, Jackson, Franklin, Springfield, Knoxville, Johnson City, at the West TN Title I conference, and at the TN Council for the Social Studies conference in Gatlinburg.

One of the Knoxville events on March 11

Some of these events were at school system-run teacher centers; some at centrally located hotels.

We intend to continue to do these events when requested.

Tennessee History for Kids does not charge school systems to conduct these events, since they are part of our mission.

Teachers who come to our inservices, in addition to hearing an entertaining, accurate and informative presentation, receive free sample booklets, trading cards, posters and other teaching materials.

One of the Memphis events on February 25

For more information about having one of these events in your part of the state, email bill@tnhistoryforkids.org.
