TSLA's Tennessee Virtual Archive (TeVA) Department of Conservation Photographs "Alex Ocomma, a 100-year-old Cherokee Indian." I wish we knew more about Mr. Ocomma, photographed here in 1939. Assuming that he was 100 years old at that time, as he obviously claimed to be, he would have been born only one year after most of his fellow Cherokees had been forced west on the Trail of Tears.
